'Equity & Excellence: Liberating the NHS' - White Paper

Secretary of State for Health Andrew Lansley has set out the Government's ambitious plans to reform the NHS during this Parliament and for the long-term. The White Paper 'Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS', details how power will be devolved from Whitehall to patients and professionals.   

Following the release of the white paper, it is clear that the NHS will face a significant period of organisational and structural reform, while continuing to deliver world class care.  The fundamental changes that this will bring will require robust project management, effective workforce planning and engagement, and effective governance structures to ensure that not only are projects delivered within the required timescales and to the quality needed to deliver a more effective and efficient service in the future, but also that the NHS organisations are able to operate and provide services as "business as usual".
